Available Facilities


Beach House

The Beach House is an open-air pavilion with a kitchen, grill, and bathrooms located next to a saltwater pond, and is an ideal setting for socializing. The Beach House is generally available on a first-come, first-served basis. To ensure availability for a special function, please make a reservation. Bring your own grill supplies.

Classrooms

Pauley Classrooms:

The Pauley Classrooms offers the flexibility of two classrooms that can seamlessly merge into a single expansive room, adapting to specific needs and preferences. Each Classroom is climate-controlled and equipped with a projector and projector screen. Reorganizing the tables and seating options to suit the required arrangement is simple and straightforward.

Classroom fees are $250/day. Reservations are required.


NSF Classrooms:

The NSF Classroom is located just a few steps from the ocean, making it an excellent choice for groups transitioning to and from the field. With a capacity of 25-30 people, the climate-controlled environment is suitable for engaging lessons and hands-on experiments. This classroom can also serve as a meeting space and comes equipped with a projector and projector screen.

NSF classroom fees are $200/day. Reservations are required.

Housing

The HIMB housing program has four housing options on Moku O Loʻe, allowing researchers, students, and visitors the unique ability to be within walking distance of their work. More information about each dorm can be found by clicking on the links below. All reservations are booked by room (except for Hale Hinalea).


Boating & Diving

HIMB maintains a number of fleet boats available to researchers. Boating and diving must take place under the auspices of the faculty sponsor. Permission to check out boats is at the discretion of the HIMB Marine Safety Officer HIMB Marine Safety Officer.
