Schmidt Ocean Institute Research Director visit to HIMB

On October 02^nd, The Schmidt Ocean Institute Research Director Victor Zykov and Communication Manager Carlie Weiner visited HIMB. Victor gave a short presentation on the mission of SOI and its future research directions. He emphasized the motivations of the founders for openly shared information, technological advancement and intelligent observation. The goal is to encourage collaborative research with HIMB members and the use of the technology developed in SOI in coral reef studies. SOI is structured around 5 key areas: oceanographic research operations, technology development for marine science, collaborative scientific research, and outreach.  Call for expression of interest in collaborative research is open until late December at: https://schmidtocean.org/apply/expression-of-interest/
