Unparalleled Access to the Field
The Hawai‘i Institute of Marine Biology is an organized research unit of the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa which supports full-time research and education on Moku o Lo’e as part of its core mission. HIMB is equivalent to a university department and does not maintain dedicated space to serve as a field station for unaffiliated researchers and educators. Under this framework, HIMB supports a limited number of faculty sponsored visitors who complement the research, mission and objectives of the institute and the university.
