About
Christine is an education researcher who specializes in cross-cutting methodologies to support emerging science professionals. Her research interests have spanned several fields including chronobiology, organic geochemistry, functional morphology, and sensory neurology. As a postdoctoral scholar, she currently examines cognitive development within immersive research training experiences. She enjoys sharing her research experience with students and the greater community and has had the privilege to disseminate educational work with production teams from the Smithsonian Institute, Discovery Channel, National Geographic, and the BBC. From teaching upper-level undergraduate laboratory courses at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa to becoming a researcher and curriculum developer in the KeaoaLo‘e REMS Lab, she has 15+ years’ experience training students and professionals in research methodologies. She specializes in developing and evaluating early-college, marine science CUREs (course-based undergraduate research experiences) and early career scientist mentoring curricula.
