Nathan is currently a PhD student and researcher at the University of Hawai’i at Mānoa, studying Marine Biology. He graduated from the University of Miami with a bachelor’s in Marine Biology and Computer Science and now applies this computational background to research in marine sciences, utilizing a range of methods including agent-based modelling, numerical modelling, and machine learning techniques. Nathan has a specific interest in regime shifts and alternative stable states and is currently working with machine learning supervised models of coral-algal transitions.
